Event Details

The Kathina ceremony at Wat Buddhanusorn will be held on Saturday and Sunday, October 24-25 and we warmly invite you to join us in celebrating this innovative online event.

The Royal Kathina Robes being graciously offered by His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua of Thailand, through a representative from Thailand.

Kathina is the embroidery frame used in sewing robes which, in the past, were collected from rags since cloth was not as plentiful as it is nowadays. Buddhists regard the Thot Kathina ceremony as a significant form of merit-making. Thus, once in their lifetime, everyone looks forward to having an opportunity to be the sponsor of a Kathina ceremony for the monks.
